How it works

Music for Life has 25 years of experience working with children in Africa through running the award winning African Children’s Choir, with a mission to show the world the beauty, dignity and unlimited ability of the African child. Each Music for Life Centre works with 50 children, offering remedial programmes that are based on dance, music and sports.

Music and dance activity has proven to be a valuable psychosocial support. It builds self esteem and aspiration, fosters emotional healing and development in each child at all levels. Building relationships with these children creates an atmosphere of trust and love that enables them to reach for their dreams.

Our approach is multi-interventionist which we believe is necessary to tackle both prevention as well as outcomes in communities who have been affected by poverty, war and HIV/AIDS.

On weekends and during school holidays, MFL Centres operate camps for these children developing stronger relationships with them, their extended families and ommunities.
